There’s nothing sweeter than a child’s love. Eleven-year-old Lily Born of Chicago has gone above and beyond to show her love for her grandfather, who suffers from Parkinson’s Disease.
After noticing that her grandfather’s Parkinson’s symptoms were causing more than a few spills, she set out to create a spill-proof cup that would make drinking easier and safer for him. She designed a cup with three legs for balance and dubbed her invention the Kangaroo Cup as a nod to the marsupial’s ability to balance using its tail as a third leg.
Lily’s dad started a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of a prototype, and today the 9 ounce, stackable cups are available for purchase in an assortment of colors. The Kangaroo Cup is microwave and dishwasher safe, tip-resistant and made from a shatter-proof plastic. But best of all, the Kangaroo Cup is made from love.
